The reality is, most people fear moving to a new data center because moving is not only complex, but also has an associated risk factor if all does not “go as planned.” After all, users expect their network, files, software, etc. to be available to them 24/7, so any downtime is unwelcome, requiring communication and careful coordination.

At least most of us have had to move or relocate at one time or another throughout our lives. Whether it was carrying boxes full of textbooks and that stuffed animal you just can’t live without to your dorm room, navigating through city traffic in an oversized U-Haul, or packing up 30+ photo albums of family pictures, transition is inevitable and exciting, but often chaotic.

Everyone’s familiar with trading properties, picking up "Chance" cards, and exchanging colorful fake money during the game of Monopoly. For many of us, this simple board game was our first introduction into handling cash and doing our best to invest it wisely. We live in a society dominated by trends. We buy the fashionable winter boots, download hit songs from iTunes, and visit new downtown restaurants. In today’s world of connectivity and devices, and digital word-of-mouth promotion, we are presented with reviews of what other people liked, but are also delivered highly relevant, targeted recommendations on what we will like and want − all according to data. Companies like Amazon, Apple and other service providers have found great value in tapping into the sea of data, which consumers leave behind about trends, tastes and interests.

Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang, the Batmobile, the DeLorean, Herbie the Love Bug, the Green Hornet, Knight Rider…. all iconic cars that fit the personality and needs of their unique individual owners. Finding and driving the perfect car is something that can happen outside of the Hollywood movie screens too. Think of your own friends and family and all the crazy schedules they manage. How does a "soccer mom" transport the entire neighborhood to practice? What about your teenage niece, that belts out Top 40s hits behind the wheel when she should really focus on making it to school on time? Your adventurous 80 year-old father that still plows through the snow to visit his beloved grandchildren?
